Iranian National Center for Ocean Data
The national reference for the collection, management, preservation, and accessibility of oceanographic and marine data and metadata in Iran.
National Infrastructure for Ocean Data Management
The Iranian National Center for Ocean Data was established with the aim of developing a national infrastructure for the collection, management, quality control, preservation, and exchange of oceanographic data in Iran.
The establishment of the center followed Resolution 153 of the 27th Session of the UNESCO General Conference and began with a feasibility study conducted by experts from the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) in 1994.
In 1995, the Oceanographic Data Center was established at the Iranian National Center for Oceanography and was designated as the national node of the International Oceanographic Data and Information Exchange (IODE) programme. In 2010, following the establishment of the Iranian National Institute for Oceanography, the Iranian National Center for Ocean Data (INCOD) received its official authorization from the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.
To search, explore, and access datasets, data catalogues, and information services provided by the center, you can visit the dedicated INCOD data portal.
